  • I was an ICU nurse for 15 years prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner.
  • I taught at USF and CAMLS in Tampa for multiple years teaching multiple courses.
  • I have been practicing as a Nurse Practitioner since 2021.
  • I have been precepting nurse practitioner and medical students since January 2023.
  • I have over 20,000 clinical teaching hours so far.

Work & Clinical Schedule

  • I work 8-5 with a 1 hour break from 1 PM to 2 PM.
  • Monday I am at the Tampa Heights office on MLK.
    • 701 W MLK Blvd, Ste 3, Tampa, FL 33603
  • Tuesday and Wednesday I am at the Brandon office on Oakfield Dr.
    • 1111 Oakfield Dr, Ste 111, Brandon, FL 33511
  • Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday I am at the South Tampa location on Swann Avenue.

  • We use an online sign up platform to schedule clinical days.
  • You must sign up for clinical days via the link to be provided by Dr. Lewis.

How Dr. Lewis Teaches

  • Dr. Lewis is a big proponent of collaboration, which is why she has multiple students. This is so that you all can collaborate together and learn from each other, as well as from Dr. Lewis.
  • Everyone comes from different backgrounds, so use that to your advantage!
  • Dr. Lewis likes to have at least two students every day in the office.
  • You will learn how to see patients from start to finish.
  • You will follow a senior student for the first day to learn the flow of the office and the charting.
  • You will learn how to chart a complete note on a patient within the first 3 days of clinical.
  • Dr. Lewis will give you an orientation booklet on your first day with
    • A case study to brush up your skills on lab reviews
    • A template for the plan/education section based on a given diagnosis
    • A template telling you where to chart things and what to chart in given sections.
  • If you have any questions, at any time, feel free to ask. There are no stupid questions!

Honorarium Payment Options

  • Clinical is $1000 per session, up to 180 hours. Any additional hours will be prorated.
  • For payment I will send you an invoice to your email that you can pay online.
  • If you complete multiple sessions with Dr. Lewis, you will get more than one invoice.
  • You must pay half upon confirmation of clinical site and preceptor acceptance.
  • The other half is due at the beginning of your clinical rotation.
